Welcome Rachel Walker as Our NEW Community Partnership Manager

Rachel Walker

Community Partnership Manager

Hello Early Childhood Community,

My name is Rachel Walker, I have the honor of taking Janis DeBaca’s /Developmental Pathway’s role in this group. I’m excited to continue her amazing legacy of work with you.

I wanted to introduce myself and my background (I’d love to learn about each one of you too). I have been at Developmental Pathways for over 12 years in the Early Intervention Program, the last six years serving as a Program Manager for Region 1/Aurora. I have also worked for Early Head Start and as a respite care provider for children with special needs. Through this work, I have developed a passion for supporting the development of babies, toddlers, and young children. I enjoy connecting with others and value feedback, brainstorming, and innovation. Beyond work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with my husband, Ryan, and our dog, Pixel. I’m still learning the ropes of this new position, and I am soliciting your help!

I would like to lean on you, to help guide and prioritize my new work. I have some general questions I’d like to start with and welcome all ideas/feedback:
- How do you like to be contacted? And how often?
- In what areas you would like some more support from DP?
- Is there a training or method of communication that did not work well for you in the past?
- Are there training topics you would like to see for EC leaders or your general staff?
- What type of learner are you (visual, auditory, etc.)?
